Birth Trauma

Birth trauma can leave a lasting imprint. Using EMDR—a well-researched, effective therapy—we can work to resolve the distress linked to difficult memories or fears. My approach is always compassionate and centred on your experience. If you are hapū, we can also collaborate on a trauma-informed birth plan for your maternity team.

Pregnancy and Baby Loss

The grief and trauma of pregnancy loss, baby loss, or a difficult fertility journey can feel overwhelming. In this space, your unique experience is centred with deep compassion. EMDR therapy can help process the painful memories and fears, easing their weight and helping to rebuild a sense of hope and future.

ACC Birth Injury

Birth can leave physical injuries that also wound the spirit. If you’ve experienced a covered maternal birth injury (like severe tearing or instrumental delivery), ACC’s MICPI contract funds therapy for the psychological impact. I offer trauma-informed EMDR to help you process what happened—so you can heal, not just physically, but fully.

Connection and Partnership
The path to parenthood can deeply impacts relationships. Partners may grieve and cope differently, which can lead to isolation. Together, we can create a supportive space to navigate this complexity, fostering understanding and connection during a time of strain.

Parenting the Early Years

Becoming a parent can stir up our own history. I offer a compassionate approach to understanding your own early patterns, and learning the building blocks for secure attachment. Together, we’ll foster connected parenting during your child’s most formative years—the first 2000 days.
